Services and Information for Parents

__________________________________________________________________

Parents play an influential role in their children’s lives, particularly their involvement in and satisfaction with sports. Because we know that all parents want to help their children have FUN and get the most out of their sport experiences, our sport psychology consultants and licensed sport psychologists are available to meet with parents to discuss how to work most effectively with younger athletes and how to create a positive youth sport environment using sport psychology principles. Specifically, our FREE sports psychology workshops can help parents:

- Improve communication with your children and their coaches
- Learn new ways to reinforce and support your children’s development through sport
- Develop strategies for helping your children successfully handle frustrations they may experience through sport (e.g., not playing well) - Think about new ways to be involved in your children’s sports
- Understand your children’s development in sport so you can nurture their life-long love of physical activity

If you and the parents of your children’s PSA team are interested in scheduling a sport psychology workshop, visit our services page, or contact the Center for Sport Psychology and Performance Excellence at
